Okay Here we are.
Friday is my final day of Working On It
at Viaduct Gallery and
I’ll be opening up the space from 6-9pm to share
an exhibition.
Here is what it’s looked like so far to be residing in the space.
It’s also looked like not music and dancing
but just laying on the cement
in stillness and silence
so I’d like to point that out too because I didn’t record that.
Beautifully though
it’s all been part of Working On It.

Since her take over of the @viaductgallerydsm earlier this month, Shylah Kay @yepbutnope has been sharing glimpses of the experimental residency as it’s evolved. With four days leading up to the final exhibition, Art Beacon’s next digital resident will bring us along as she pieces together the exhibit and hopes it’s relatable and interesting content that makes you curious enough to come Friday. .

Despite my flat colors, I tend to work in many layers. Building shapes, creating clean divisions of color and getting the paint thickness I want can be a pretty tedious process. @maddyfusco

I participate in lots of shows and markets! While I love a gallery setting, markets allow me to meet people, talk about art, and feel immursed in an atmosphere I love. Catch me Saturday morning at Des Moines' Downtown Farmer's Market! I'm at the end of court near the river. @dtfarmersmarket @maddyfusco

I've always loved anatomy. Figure drawing has been an amazing way to practice drawing through observation and study the human body. My work often comes from my imagination but figure drawing keeps me grounded. @arcadiantattoo is cool enough to host it ❤
