Who’s exhibiting and opportunities for artists

Deadline today: Ames Is 150

Ames C.art, together with the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Ames and the Ames Historical Society will organize a juried show called “Ames Is 150: His Story, Her Story, Our Story”. The show will be displayed at the Gallery in the Round, from Dec. 13th, 2014 till January 24th, 2015. The prospectus for this exhibition can be downloaded here.

Exhibition Concept

2014 is the 150th anniversary of the foundation of Ames, Iowa. The event will be celebrated through various activities and lectures, but there is one thing yet missing: a visual arts exhibition of works created by artists about the history of Ames. Visual artists are invited to submit works that explore, engage with the history of Ames, and/or depict an event or historic structure in Ames. The concept is open and the subject is up to you as long as some theme related to the history of Ames is included in the work. Ames Historical Society will provide access to their archives to any artist interested in researching a particular subject for their pieces.

Jurors

Kristin Roach (Ames C.art)
Ursula Ruetenberg (KHOI Radio)
Bob Anders (Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Ames)
Kathy Svec (Ames Historical Society)
