Jordan Weber's American Dreamers Travels to LA |
Iowa Arts Council Artist Fellow Jordan Weber made a splash in the Manifest Justice Exhibit at the Baldwin Theater in Los Angeles this month. Weber transported his piece American Dreamers, a re-purposed police car that commented on the recent relations between the public and police officers, in pieces to Los Angeles. The police car was rebuilt and filled with dirt and plants to create American Dreamer’s Phase Two, a garden offering a symbol of hope and alternative to the negative sentiments pervading America’s recent confrontations with race, police and societal inequities. The exhibit is on display until May 10 and includes work from 150 artists exploring power and inequity on local and international levels. Read more about the exhibit in the Los Angeles Times.
