Despite my flat colors, I tend to work in many layers. Building shapes, creating clean divisions of color and getting the paint thickness I want can be a pretty tedious process. @maddyfusco

I participate in lots of shows and markets! While I love a gallery setting, markets allow me to meet people, talk about art, and feel immursed in an atmosphere I love. Catch me Saturday morning at Des Moines' Downtown Farmer's Market! I'm at the end of court near the river. @dtfarmersmarket @maddyfusco

I've always loved anatomy. Figure drawing has been an amazing way to practice drawing through observation and study the human body. My work often comes from my imagination but figure drawing keeps me grounded. @arcadiantattoo is cool enough to host it ❤

This is one of my newest pieces and a good example of what I gravitate towards: bright colors, repetitive shapes, and playing with texture. In additon, finding a balance of beauty and grotesque is something I find fascinating. Even in simple and kind of silly ways, like a goopy pomegranate. @maddyfusco

Hello, I'm Maddy Fusco. I'm an MCAD graduate with a degree in Illustration. Iowa native, recently moved to Des Moines. I'm constantly inspired by nature, colors and pretty/creepy things. Though, sometimes I'm just in it for the mark making as drawing is something I find very theraputic.
