Making Art Public Exhibit Opens Dec 13
Experience the beauty and history of public art in Iowa when the Iowa Arts Council and the State Historical Museum of Iowa open the new exhibition, Making Art Public, on Saturday, December 13, at the State Historical Museum in Des Moines. Photographs, museum artifacts and original artworks highlight the earliest beginnings of public art in the state, significant artists including Grant Wood, the creative process, and where to find public art in Iowa. Visitors will gain an appreciation for how public art connects us to our natural and cultural heritage, creates a sense of place, and is part of the fabric of our colleges and communities. Admission is free.
