Who’s exhibiting and opportunities for artists
(West Des Moines) - Link Associates is pleased to announce that it has received a project grant in the amount of $3,000 from the Iowa Arts Council, a Division of the Iowa Department of Cultural Affairs. As a recipient of a fiscal year 2014-2015 grant, Link Associates will carry out a program called the Big Art Series, which will fund individuals with intellectual disabilities to experience in-depth art instruction in: printmaking, sculpture, drawing and exhibitionarts.
Linda Dunshee, Executive Director of Link Associates states, “persons with disabilities can easily be excluded from all that society has to offer. The Big Art Series allows persons with intellectual disabilities to fully participate and experience their unique artistic talents; as well as showcase their art work in a public exhibition on December 5, 2014. I am grateful to the Iowa Arts Council for making this a reality.”
