Amer Alobaidi is a well-known Iraqi American artist. He is the former Director of the National Museum of Modern Art and General Director of Fine Arts in Iraq. Like many other refugees, Alobaidi and his family fled the country during the violence of 2006 and have been living in Des Moines, Iowa since then.
Lost in the Maze of Immigration is majorly influenced by Alobaidi’s life as an immigrant in the States. Through the use of deep, moody colors and figures, Alobaidi’s expresses in his art the various emotions of human suffering.
Please join Viaduct Gallery for the opening night, Friday, November 6th, of ‘Lost in the Maze of Immigration’ by Amer Alobaidi. Reception will go from 7 p.m until 10 p.m at the Viaduct Gallery. The exhibit will go until November 30th. MORE INFO
